Teacher Portal User Guide

How to use the Teacher Portal — semester view, pay summary, rosters, attendance, syllabus links, and assessments.

What this guide covers

  1. Log in as a teacher
  2. Use the semester filter and pay summary
  3. Work with classes: rosters, attendance, contacts, syllabus
  4. Record assessments
  5. Troubleshooting
First time using the Teacher Portal? Start with the Teacher First-Time Onboarding path (login, confirm classes, week-one checklist). This guide assumes you already have a teacher login.

0 Before you start

Direct links:

1 Log in

  1. Open the Login page.
  2. Select Teacher.
  3. Sign in with the email on your teacher profile.
Parent-teachers: after login, use Portals: Teacher · Parent in the header to switch without logging out.

1b Instructor agreement (each semester)

When your classes are assigned for a term, the Teacher Portal shows a banner until you sign digitally:

  1. Handbook — full Expectations & Code of Conduct (same school handbook parents see).
  2. Waivers — instructor liability and social media release.
  3. Contract — document version 1.0.2; your name and assigned classes (and pay rates from your teacher record) are pre-filled. Choose cash payment or apply to family tuition. (Comes after the handbook so you can truthfully agree to it.)
  4. Sign — type your full legal name (electronic signature).
If a class is missing or wrong, stop and contact the school administrator before signing. After you sign, the record is stored for the school under Admin → Signed Agreements (filter: Teacher contracts).

2 Semester filter & welcome bar

At the top of the Teacher Portal:

Changing the semester filters your classes, pay summary, and related lists for that term.

3 Pay summary cards

When you are a regular (non–church-staff) teacher, colored cards summarize compensation for the selected semester:

Pay figures are informational. Official payroll is managed by the school. Report discrepancies to the school administrator rather than editing anything in the portal.

4 Classes tab — rosters & tools

The default tab is Classes. Each assigned class shows schedule info, enrollment count, stages, and a student roster.

Common actions on a class card:

5 Logging attendance

  1. Open Log Attendance on the class.
  2. Confirm or set the date.
  3. Mark each student (present / absent / late as offered).
  4. Save. You can review or correct via View History.
Log attendance the same day when possible so families and the school administrator have an accurate record.

6 Syllabus links

  1. Click Submit syllabus link on the class.
  2. Paste a shareable link (Google Drive recommended) and an optional label.
  3. Submit for admin approval.
  4. After approval, parents can open the syllabus from their portal enrollments.
Ensure the link is set so the school community can view it (anyone with the link / school accounts, per school administrator guidance).

7 Assessments tab

  1. Switch to the Assessments tab.
  2. Filter by semester and/or class if needed.
  3. Click Add Assessment.
  4. Choose class and student, enter name/type, scores or mastery level as appropriate, then save.

You can edit or delete assessments you created from the list when those actions are shown.

Use the fields provided rather than inventing a separate gradebook outside the portal unless the school asks you to. Letter grades are preferred unless another scale makes more sense for the class.

? Troubleshooting

Not registered as a teacher / no profile for this email
The Teacher role or teachers record email does not match your login. Ask the school administrator to align email + Teacher role.
No classes listed
Check the semester dropdown. If still empty, you may not be assigned as teacher_id on any class for that term — contact the school administrator.
Pay cards missing
Church staff and some admin views hide pay summary cards. Parent-only logins do not see teacher pay.
Amount paid looks wrong
Only payments tagged to that exact semester name (e.g. Fall 2026) count. Report odd amounts to the school administrator with the semester selected.
Cannot save attendance or assessments
Confirm you are online and still logged in. Refresh and try once. If it persists, note the class name and time and contact the school administrator.
